Who among us hasn't channeled Ingrid Bergman in Casablanca, fetching and glamorous yet full of mystery and grace? Besame Cosmetics brings that enigmatic poise into this century, with rich, penetrating colors and packaging so seductive you might not throw it away.
About the Brand: Founder and makeup historian, Gabriela Hernandez, took her inspiration from the vibrant colors, long-lasting formulas and artistic packaging of post-war 1940’s cosmetics to create a captivating cosmetic line for the romantic at heart that truly honors the golden age of glamour.
By combining the best of the past, with the most modern and advanced natural skincare ingredients available today, Besame Cosmetics is truly one of a kind.
Why We Love It: How many times have you thought to yourself, “They just don’t make ‘em like they used to.” Well, Besame does. From the quality of ingredients and pigments, to the packaging, down to the presentation, everything is superbly done, without compromise, and quite literally, made the way they used to. It’s adorable, it’s portable, it feels great, and looks vibrant on any ethnicity or skin type.
Current Obsessions:
Right now we’re crushing on the brand new, hot off the presses, latest product from Besame; The Gingerbread Mascara (a true vintage formula from the 1930’s with a subtle gingerbread smell that dissipates and is safe for the most sensitive of eyes).
We also love the Masterliner Pencil (dual ended eye liner) in either (blue/emerald) or (plum/brown) is a definite must have item and our all time favorite Besame product. With rich pigments and glide on texture in perfect hues, you won't be constantly shaving this so that it goes on evenly. The hardest decision of the day is figuring out which color to use.
In the Box: Subscribers to the May Yellow Box received 4 of the best products Besame has to offer: A dual sided eye liner in a tragically chic package, a perfectly pigmented Alluring Eye Shadow (in a charming gold metal vintage case), an unbelievably tantalizing Lip Glaze lip gloss that smells and tastes like a coconut vanilla dream in one of today’s trendiest hues, and a Gingerbread Mascara in black. The purveyors of pretty at Besame know just how to make a girl the modern-yet-old-fashioned stunner she longs to be.
