About the Brand: A Design brushes were launched after parent company Anisa International (who manufactures brushes for several top end makeup lines – who they are is very hush hush, but trust us these are the brushes you want to buy!) decided there was a need in the market for unique, high-end yet affordable brushes.  With an eye for quality and excellence, A Design was launched in ‘06 and are a favorite of celebrity makeup artists like Charlie Green (who has glamified the faces of stars like Hilary Swank as well as Victoria’s Secret hotties Heidi and Giselle).

 

Why We Love It: We like to think of these brushes like a classic Diane Von Furstenberg dress.  They look great, but they wouldn’t be so popular if they didn’t work (on just about everybody!).The bottom line is no matter how great a brush looks, it has to work, and these do. The brushes are soft and luxurious and really help you apply pigments the way they were meant to be applied.  We love that there are so many uniquely shaped brushes to choose from in the line, like the Pointed Concealer brush, that puts A Design just a cut above the rest.  Lastly, but certainly not least, we love that with everything they are. the one thing they are not, is cruel to animals.

 

Current Obsessions: Every brush from this line is amazing, but we’re big fan’s of the chic, yet oh so practical, Mini Set.  We’re also in love with the Eye # 1 (great for smokey eyes and blending), the Pointed Concealer (perfect for when a little dab will do), and the angled Kabuki (it hit’s you in all the right places), all of which have made it in to our bag of “everyday” brushes.

 

In the Box: Subscribers to the March Yellow Box received the “Mini Set”; a set of A Design’s must have travel brushes.  The set of 6 fabulous brushes includes a powder, foundation, angled liner, brow brush and a baby kabuki.
