About the Brand: Balmshell Cosmetics was launched in 2006 by Canadian identical twins Jennifer and Fiona Lees when their love for cosmetics, a float art pen, and a never-ending search for the perfect lip gloss inspired them to do it themselves.  The result is a line of high quality, high shine, non-sticky, moisturizing lip glosses spiked with a hint of fruity vanilla flavor.  

 

Why We Love It: As if the gloss itself wasn’t enough (we truly love everything about them especially the silky non-sticky texture and the amazing scent), the twins created a unique packaging concept based on float art.  Designed by renowned Spanish illustrator Mar Murube, each shade has it’s own personality and allows you to pick a gloss to match your own distinctive “Balmshell” goddess, like the “Shopaholic”, a perfect shade of soft baby pink for those who love to shop. The best part is, when you’re done with the gloss, the fun float art side can be turned into a key chain for endless personal expression.   How beautiful is that?!

 

Current Obsessions: Right now we’re loving “That’s So 80’s”, a cool shade of retro mauve, that honestly looks a little scary in the tube, but is ooooh so amazing on!  Like all the Balmshell glosses, it’s perfectly sheer with just the right hint of purple loveliness, and the float art of the Balmshell spraying her friends hair purple is “like so totally cute!”.  We also adore the “Curse of the Purse”.  She is after all, a Balmshell after our own hearts, who struts right past a hottie for an even hotter handbag in a store window!  How can we not love that!  The color of the “Curse of the Purse” is also a fabulous universally flattering shimmery shade of peach.  Tres chic.

 

In the Box: Subscribers to the July Yellow Box received three amazing lip glosses in gorgeous hues from Balmshell that are perfect for the hot summer months, but just as great all year round.
